SiS: ULTRA-RARE 14" Petrified Wood Round from India FASCINATING SLAB - LAST ONE!

Regular price $243.00

This large plate is arguably one of the rarest petrified wood collectibles we've offered this year.  This is a large slab from an unknown fossil tree species found in India!  I've collected petrified wood from all over the world for more than two decades, but this is the first petrified wood I've seen from India that was larger than a bead!  I found this log in Tucson several years ago and am just getting the slabs finished and ready to share.  The wood structure is preserved about like Hampton Butte is here in Oregon - lots of visible wood characteristics but not quite enough to study cell structure (though I think I see enough to declare it a conifer).  There are a lot of really beautiful agate and crystal formations that go from red to drusy throughout the mirror polished face.   The wood polishes better than most Hampton specimen, it seems to be a jasper like silica mineral infused with agate.  It all takes a very nice polish and produces a truly fascinating and unique collectible specimen.  We've only seen a couple of nice logs from this seldom seen area - don't miss your chance to add a choice one to your collection!

This is a really beautiful specimen of the petrified wood found in India.  I'm not sure why, but petrified wood is almost never seen from this nation though many other collectible minerals are mined and exported there.  Here's a wonderful chance to add a fantastic quality show piece from a rarely seen location to your own collection!  This wood is some of the best preserved of what little I've seen from this exotic locale.  Even the color scheme reminds me of India!

This is a perfect and complete round taken from a well preserved petrified log.   It's cut from the center of a nicely shaped, larger log that reveals several of the original growth patterns of the tree. This specimen has been carefully polished to show off all the gemmy detail inside. It's another one of those beautiful fossil treasures that some happy Sticks-in-Stones customer is going to flip over!

This round measures about 14" x 9 3/8" across the mirror polished face and is cut about 0.61" thick. Weight is 6.38 lbs.

A nice, unique naturally wonderful stone collectible exclusively from Sticks-in-Stones Lapidary.
