This is the single largest full pattern boulder I've had the pleasure of cutting from this rarely seen location. It's a gorgeous, if not flawless polished slab from a large nodule of Polish flint. This stone is a lot like the orbicular jaspers we cut and polish into jewelry and display specimens here in the Pacific Northwest. It's cut from an extra large boulder that features a full picture pattern and some of the richest high contrast colors you'll ever see in a display piece! There are a few fracture lines in the stone but they are fully stabilized and do not represent an integrity risk for the specimen. This is a real show piece suitable for permanent display in even the most advanced collections or selective decor!

One of my personal favorites are the scenic picture jaspers, many of which are found right here in Oregon. This stone could easily fit right in, but it's not one of these - it's actually a flint nodule from Poland. This stone was prized in early (stone age) tool making with many axe heads and knives now in artifact displays showing this fine, banded stone. It's one of the more impressive varieties and is often sought after for jewelry. The exterior is a soft, chalk like material that can be easily scratched away, but transitions within a few millimeters into a hard, jasper like flint that takes an immaculate polish!
This piece is an extra large, gemmy slab cut from a large boulder of material that I've been waiting to cut for several months. It's been polished using specially designed flat laps to produce a mirror perfect finish on a world class display specimen. It doesn't show in the photo of course, but the finish looks like the stone is wet! It really brings out the colors and patterns in a way you have to see in person to truly appreciate.
