Beautiful 7"+ Polished Petrified Driftwood Specimen Fossil SEQUOIA GEM FLAME!!

Regular price $106.00

This piece is definitely one of the most impressive of this particular variety that we've cut! The color and wood grain combine to look like flames in the best of these! It's an average sized specimen with very wide growth rings and the colors are absolutely gorgeous! The exterior texture on this one looks like you can still touch the wood that weathered on a beach millions of years ago! It's richer than the typical color of petrified wood in the Rodger's Mountain deposit, and it really is beautiful. I've always loved the herring bone pattern in these wonderful specimens but rarely see one with such nice growth structure so perfectly preserved. Having a nice piece of truly gemmy, mirror polished, petrified driftwood that is so readily identifiable and so distinct in appearance is a rare treat. The wood grain in this gem agate really comes out with the liquid perfect polish and the water worn exterior give it extra character. This is one of the most solidly agatized types of petrified wood you can find anywhere and the polish really lets the wood grain stand out!! One of the prettiest we've done - Good luck!

This is a really beautiful specimen of the petrified driftwood found near Oregon's Roger's Mountain. It's a pretty nice wedge shaped piece of petrified wood, with absolutely gorgeous gem quality agate in many colors preserving this ancient fossil. The exterior is worn smooth to the touch, but you can still see the wood grain in perfect detail. It looks just like a piece of driftwood from the beach today would look. The inside however is a richly colored array of gem quality agate that preserved the wood grain beautifully in every detail! The growth rings in this attractive fossil specimen are very well defined and flow artfully. These are particularly wide in this piece indicating that it was a very fast growing tree species - it's really a lovely specimen!

This wedge shaped display piece was cut at a steep sloping angle and then polished to show off all the gemmy detail inside. The base is cut flat so that you can present it nicely without a stand and show it off on a bookshelf or table. It took a beautiful polish, it really does look like a mirror! As beautiful as the face is with all those gorgeous flowing colors, the exterior is almost as interesting with an intricate, weather worn surface that's just fascinating to study. It's another one of those beautiful fossil treasures that some happy Sticks-in-Stones customer is going to flip over!

This stunning piece stands about 7" tall and measures about 3" wide across the polished face. Weight is 4.6 lbs.

What better way to accentuate a bookshelf or your mantle than with this unbelievable natural work of art!
